Praise for the book

The Occupy movement has captured imaginations and support around the world and I hope this book does the same — it is a timely analysis of the extent to which global economics has got its priorities wrong and, crucially, offers powerful and radical alternatives. “

– Caroline Lucas, British MP and leader of the UK Green Party

Quotes from the Book

As the world we know begins to crumble, a functioning Gaian League may well become the stable center upon which to rebuild.

Gaian Trade Organization

The Gaian Trade Organization replaces the WTO for member states. Sovereign control over all trade (e.g., tariff policy, product bans, most favored nation status) is necessary to prevent domestic-member products from being undercut by non-member imported products of lower environmental standards, as well as for protecting sovereign priorities and preferences.

In addition, controls on capital movement are necessary for the development of comparative advantage industries in developing countries and to protect small country equity and currency markets from speculative capital flows, and will in addition free up some currency reserves for more productive purposes.
